Wave and Tidal

We are at the forefront of tidal energy development, having been working with Tidal Lagoon Power Ltd for the past three years on the promotion of the world’s first purpose-built tidal range lagoon at Swansea. We are also supporting early work on other lagoon projects, which will introduce a new form of renewable energy generation to the UK market.

As lead consultant for the Swansea project, we coordinated a large interdisciplinary team in the preparation of the DCO application. Our role involved leading the construction and operational phase masterplanning, coordinating design working with many technical specialists, peer review of the EIA, extensive support to public consultation, planning negotiations and preparing key documents, including the DCO Works and Order Plans and Design and Access Statement.

Our expertise includes:

  • Strategic project and DCO advice and coordination
  • Creative project leadership and management
  • Planning
  • Masterplanning
  • Landscape architecture
  • Public realm design
  • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) coordination
  • LVIA and SLVIA
