Markets & Expertise / Public Realm

Our public realm work transforms places and changes perceptions, making distinctive and beautiful spaces rich in diversity of use, meaning and environmental contribution.

LDA Design continually strives to be at the forefront of the public realm market through its research programmes, rigour and creativity and this is reflected in the practice’s many awards. Our work aspires to transform places and change perceptions. It ranges in scale from the largest sites of international importance – The London 2012 Olympic Park and Battersea Power Station redevelopment – to small local housing or greenspace interventions. Our experience also has breadth from private developers of mixed-use developments or infrastructure to public sector clients for streets, squares and community led greenspace improvements.

At the heart of our approach is the creative integration of enhancing people’s lives with a site’s context and our client’s brief. This is delivered with a focus on technical excellence built up over many years and a commitment to well- planned project management. Our aim is to create places of distinctiveness and beauty, that are also rich in diversity of use, meaning and environmental contribution.
