LDA Design Shortlisted for Chelsea Barracks Competition
A competition for a masterplan for the Chelsea Barracks development has announced a shortlist of ten teams, including LDA Design with Robert Adam Architects and Ash Sakula Architects.
Chelsea Barracks has attracted some controversy as the developer, Qatari Diar, sacked Rogers Stirck Harbour & Partners and received criticism from Prince Charles.
Initial masterplan proposals are due to be submitted by the end of the week and will be judged by a panelincluding representatives from New London Architecture, The Prince's Foundation for the Built Environment and MJP Architects. Second stage submissions will be judged in November and a winner is expected to be announced in December.
