After the Railways: Creating a new urban structure for Radstock

The town of Radstock is blighted by derelict land which severs the town centre and divorces the centre from the river. As lead consultant, we secured planning permission for this brownfield site for over 200 new homes, retail and commercial space, community facilities and a new road network that redefined the movement framework of the town, established clear development plots and attractive frontages.  Our role included urban design, architectural advice, landscape architecture, ecology, planning and EIA coordination. The project won a regional RTPI award and a Landscape Institute award, which noted “an approach to redevelopment of the highest standard….”
