The Forest of Dean’s diverse landscape is an important recreational and tourist asset. Future growth in housing, industry and infrastructure needs to be planned positively to ensure its environmental assets are protected and enhanced for future generations to enjoy.
We designed a landscape supplementary planning document (SPD), which is easy to understand and features step-by-step guidance on site survey and appraisal. It considers the potential impacts of new development, provides planning application information and helps ensure effective engagement with local communities. Our SPD has raised design and delivery standards, demonstrating what can be achieved with a landscape led approach.
