Keadby Wind Farm: Securing consent for large onshore wind farms

We led a consultant team to carry out the landscape and visual impact assessment for RES UK’s Keadby Grange wind farm. Based on our combined recommendations, the design evolved and turbine numbers decreased to ensure a positive planning response.

Our innovative cumulative impact assessment was critical; ten other wind farm proposals were in close proximity.

Keadby Grange was called to the Section 36 conjoined Humberhead Levels Public Inquiry, and we were appointed expert witness. Planning permission was granted for the then-largest onshore wind farm in England. The other wind farm at that inquiry, Tween Bridge, was also consented; our assessment had addressed all cumulative effect concerns.
