Radical Preservation: A New Future for Battersea Power Station, London

The iconic Battersea Power Station is finally the subject of regeneration. We are leading the landscape design of this 20ha brownfield site in partnership with Battersea-based Exterior Architecture. Working with Rafael Vinoly as masterplanners, we developed a design placing the power station in a circular pool, giving it clear scale and space to breathe.

We have designed a lush green space for people and wildlife.  A riverside park is flanked by public gardens, trees, streets, squares and courtyards. A water wall provides screening from the railway and winds before evolving through planted wetlands, a film of water for play, then plunging to the level below through a large light-well.
