Forest Of Dean Landscape Supplementary Planning Document
The Forest of Dean Landscape Supplementary Planning Document (SPD), prepared by LDA Design on behalf of the Forest of Dean District Council, sets out important principles relating to the environment and, more specifically, the landscape, and establishes guidance intended to be used as a manual to inform anyone with an interest in development, planning or design.
When considering planning proposals, applications and appeals, the SPD is taken into account by the district council and other decision makers. It seeks to ensure that applicants are better informed about the development process and what is required of them, and will encourage a higher quality of design. It also seeks to foster a more inclusive approach to planning. It raises awareness of design issues and lets communities know about the qualities of their local landscape and through this ensures that residents are better informed and able to demand a higher standard of development.
