The provision of increased long term airport capacity has been a key issue for the UK’s infrastructure plan. LDA Design formed part of a multidisciplinary team to explore the feasibility of establishing a hub airport at Stansted as part of the Davies Commission Review. The development strategy included the provision of a four runway terminal with enhanced road and rail links. The masterplan explored the concept of locating supporting logistics and development of adjoining nearby regionally scaled settlement to promote regional economies and permit an iconic airport to be developed in an attractive landscape setting.
