LDA Design launches bursary to mark 40th

“To mark our 40th, we are looking to support students who understand the power of landscape to create places where people belong and can come up with a clear, imaginative response to the environmental challenges we face today.”
Andrew Harland, Chairman, LDA Design

Landscape architects and urban designers have a critical role to play in the face of climate breakdown and health and wellbeing issues. They need to be imaginative, thoughtful, quietly revolutionary.

To celebrate our 40th year, LDA Design is awarding five one-year bursaries worth £2,000 each to support and encourage those studying landscape architecture or urban design in the UK, at undergraduate or post-graduate level. In addition, we will also offer the recipients the opportunity of paid work experience with us.

We are committed to encouraging a wider range of students into our professions. We intend for one or more of the bursaries to be allocated to students who have faced challenges to pursuing higher education.

A design challenge to re-imagine a network of streets, an urban block or small neighbourhood will inform the selection process.

The deadline for submissions is now past. Awards will be announced in December, with payments made before the end of the year and in March 2020.
