Westminster City Council has unveiled a major new public space, designed by LDA Design, at Strand Aldwych following the transformation of one of the capital’s most congested and polluted streets.
Sian Berkley joins LDA Design as our new Sustainability Manager, ensuring climate and sustainable development stay front and centre in our work. Sian will help us to champion climate-conscious design.
Grey Street is the heart of Newcastle city centre and one of the UK's most handsome streets. New plans have been approved by the council to preserve what makes the street so special, reducing traffic, enhancing the experience of walking or cycling along the street and bringing people and nature together.
At a time when the planning and design of national infrastructure projects has never been more important, or more under scrutiny, it's with some excitement that we celebrate LDA Design's Infrastructure lead, Alister Kratt's, appointment to the National Infrastructure Commission’s Design Group, which was set up to champion design excellence.
LDA Design has set its new bursary challenge for landscape architecture and urban design students, and this time the focus is on reclaiming and reconnecting forgotten places so that our towns and cities become more sociable places that offer choices and opportunities.
