I am Head of Planning at LDA Design. I was previously LDA Design’s client, leading the masterplan and consenting for Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon for which we won numerous awards together, before I went on to advise on the Wylfa Newydd new nuclear project on Anglesey. I joined LDA Design in May 2019, to help grow the planning service in infrastructure, energy, regeneration and major mixed-use development.
I began my planning career working on masterplanning and design projects including Saadiyat Island and Heart of Doha. A desire to save the planet then led me to renewable energy, developing and consenting solar, wind and tidal projects across both the ‘regular’ and nationally significant infrastructure planning systems.
I am a chartered town planner and member of the Council of the National Infrastructure Planning Association. I enjoy building and leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver major projects, getting consensus on big ideas, and conveying complex information in simple ways – if that could be of use to you, please give me a ring!
Outside of work, I try to run, row, ride, read and raise three kids.
The centre of a lake. I’ll swim anywhere. A memorable one was the lake at Capel Curig in Snowdonia, one evening in the 2018 heatwave with a clear blue sky and not a soul in sight.
An introduction to ancient Stoic philosophy, which may sound pretentious but is a surprisingly modern, relevant and practical approach to life! Worth a look.
The Weather Project by Olafur Eliasson at Tate Modern in 2003. I visited several times to soak in the atmosphere and people-watch.
