Beth Francis
Project Consultant

After completing my BA Hons Painting at Edinburgh College of Art, I switched to a master’s in Landscape Architecture at Writtle University College.
I joined LDA Design in 2021 as a consultant landscape architect after receiving the LDA Design Bursary Award and completing an internship. I’m now working on a range of projects, including One Nine Elms and Olympia Way.
My creative background gives me a strong visual and experimental approach to design, creating spaces which resonate and respond to a site’s character and the layers of memory which shape it.
At the weekends, you’ll find me either on a long run, enjoying time with friends in the pub, or spending all my money buying croissants from Oval market.
Q&A
The painter Anselm Kiefer has always been a huge inspiration of mine, for his ability to capture intense emotional atmosphere within his landscapes. His paintings remind me of the importance of time and memory in the landscape.
