Maritta Boden
Director

I joined LDA Design as a Director in Environmental Planning in 2023. I am a landscape planner with over 25 years of experience in strategic landscape planning, landscape character assessments, protected landscapes and LVIAs through to sustainability appraisal, recreation and tourism studies and facilitation. I have led on high-profile projects, requiring imaginative design solutions. Projects close to my heart include working overseas in Ghana and Montenegro on national projects, masterplanning and developing a long-term landscape strategy for an award-winning large-scale restoration project through to more recent work on Aquind Interconnector and Drax Power Station.
I believe strongly in landscape-led designs which are developed collaboratively with robust design principles and parameters at the outset, and where the community is engaged.
In my free time I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, walking, swimming and doing up our old farmhouse.
Q&A
Across Backwell Hill where, from higher ground, there are panoramic views of the Severn Estuary and, on a clear day, the Brecon Beacons. The path then leads to a large-leaved veteran lime, celebrated locally and which has a magical character.
‘When the Crawdads Sing’ by Delia Owens, which has wonderful evocative descriptions of the landscape and biodiversity set in the marshlands of the deep south of the USA.
