With a background in urban planning and design projects throughout the UK and internationally, I specialise in the delivery of creative masterplanning solutions to complex urban challenges through collaborative working. Having successfully delivered projects at all scales, from national strategies down to town centre regeneration, I particularly enjoy working with clients and partners to deliver inventive solutions to everyday challenges in our existing and emerging communities.

Since joining LDA Design in 2018, I’ve helped bring on the Manchester studio and am currently working on a number of significant regeneration projects focused on achieving sustainable growth within the North West region. I am managing the delivery of major public realm schemes and transport-orientated regeneration sites. It is this diversity and the value of our landscape-led approach that excites me.

I strongly believe that successful places start with a vision arrived at through collaboration and creative thinking. A masterplan can unlock potential and delivering exceptional places. That’s what I love being a part of.

Q&A

I’ve never really understood why …

More often than not, when people consider a city or a new development they focus on the buildings rather than the street. So often our primary experience of a city is from street level and it is amazing that this perspective is still too often forgotten in new development.

What is the most memorable thing you’ve ever seen in a public space?

The experience of walking through the Djemaa El Fna, in Marrakech, will live long in the memory; a heady mix of Moorish architecture, food, music and, of course, dancing snakes.

My favourite walk is …

Growing up in Carlisle I made many trips to the Lake District. The Buttermere Horseshoe walk, taking in the peaks of High Stile, High Crag, Haystacks and Dale Head, is my favourite by far…when I was young enough to have the energy and time.
