I joined LDA Design in 1999 as a graduate Landscape Architect after living and working in Germany, the US, France and Ireland. Since 2006 I have focused my work on urban design and masterplanning following the completion of my urban design MA. I am particularly interested in how the existing landscape can set a strong and efficient framework for development – an approach I have applied to a number of large-scale urban extensions in places such as at Swindon and Bristol.
I am also particularly interested in the realities of delivery and economics of urban development. My main current project is the town centre regeneration of Weston-super-Mare, helping the coastal town realise a step change whilst celebrating its distinct qualities.
When I’m not in the office I am a mother of three spirited young children.
Early 20th century modernist design and its rational, measured and often beautiful response to context. I am also inspired by the concepts of landscape urbanism and urban ecology.
