I joined LDA Design’s Manchester studio in 2024 as an associate planner with twelve years of experience.

My career to date has been varied and interesting, from working on major town centre redevelopment projects such as the Kirklees Cultural Heart in Huddersfield, to replacement sewerage systems in prisons in Dartmoor National Park. I love problem solving through collaborative working and I love a site visit. My favourite projects are ones that involve creation of ‘tangible’ social spaces that people can enjoy spending time in, such as town centre redevelopments, the creation of beautiful public realm, anything food and beverage related and new leisure uses.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, exploring the countryside with my family, socialising with friends and watching sport. I follow the Paralympics, the Scotland rugby team and Leeds United.

Q&A

My favourite landscape is ...

I am lucky to live close to my favourite landscape… the rugged, vast and sometimes moody moorland of West Yorkshire. I love the Yorkshire gritstone, the purple heather in the autumn and running past the soot-covered mill buildings that pepper the edges of it.

My favourite walk is …

Haystacks in the Lake District is up there as one of the best (as Wainwright would agree!). To be honest, any hikes in the Lake District or Yorkshire countryside get my vote.

What is your secret superpower at work?

Speaking frankly to get to the point of the issue that needs to be resolved.
