I became an urban designer because I wanted to create places where people will be able to lead happy and fulfilling lives. For me this forms the cornerstone to successful sustainable development: encompassing access to nature, alternative transport, good jobs and shopping opportunities, as well as places to relax and do some people watching.
I have worked on a variety of large-scale masterplans and spatial strategies for residential and mixed-use developments and regeneration schemes. I worked for three years with LDA Design in Oxford, before moving to the new Bristol office.
In my spare time, I like to set myself new challenges – be it running or mountain biking or taking a longer lunch break to go out and do some urban sketching (IG:@rihardsss)
