Sam Hammersley
Project Consultant

I joined LDA Design in 2018, right after completing my master’s and undergraduate degrees at the University of Sheffield.
With a background rooted in science, I love to see how people and the environment can be connected in new and innovative ways. Part of my master’s focused on post-industrial and rural landscapes, looking at how these can be restored and re-designed using ‘rewilding’ techniques.
When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me hanging from a climbing wall or out in the hills, running along the trails or trekking up the peaks.
Q&A
Sheffield. It’s one of the greenest cities I know and the ability to effortlessly slip out into the hills for a run or cycle makes it all the more amazing.
Jan Gehl. His understanding of space and how people interact with the public realm is second to none.
The top of Stanage Edge. The Peak District seems to open up before you from this point and the trail back into Sheffield is one of my favourite runs.
