My professional life as a landscape architect has been spent at LDA Design, starting with our visionary Urban Renaissance projects working with Will Alsop, through to winning the international Peoples’ Playground Competition that re-imagined Blackpool’s Seafront.
I have also worked on the Olympic Parklands and Public Realm, Battersea Power Station, the new Google HQ. More recent outings have been as varied as a new school in Cambridge, parks in Moscow, high rise residential development in London and beach side residential development in Cornwall.
Apart from design, most of my remaining time is spent with my horses – nature in its finest form.
LDA Design were co-designers of the world’s largest kinetic sculptures – The Blackpool Dune Grass.
The Horse by Wendy Williams, chronicling the 56-million-year journey of horses alongside man and how both adapted to survive in the face of a changing world.
Horseback, it lends you the opportunity of different perspectives on your environment and our relationship with it.
