I am qualified and have experience in Environmental Planning, Landscape Architecture and Ecology. I enjoy working at the interface between disciplines to ensure planning, design and assessment are fully integrated.
My initial post-graduate training and experience was as an Ecologist, and I bring an ecological approach to the planning, design and management of landscapes. I also have experience of EIA and various environmental planning disciplines, particularly landscape planning. I strive for the successful integration of new development into the landscape.
More recent involvement has been with emerging areas such as green infrastructure and habitat creation. I also have a Diploma in Arboriculture and experience of tree surveys and woodland creation/management.
Away from consultancy, I keep in touch with my rural Lincolnshire roots via the family farm. Periodic escapes from terra firma involve kayaking and scuba diving.
The train window on the Caledonian sleeper from London to Inverness. There is no greater contrast than leaving behind the evening rush of London Euston, and then waking up to the mountains, moorlands and lochs of the Scottish Highlands.
Politicians and decision-makers are increasingly myopic when they should be guardians of the future.
